Who should apply: Canadian entrepreneurs and innovators with a product or technology in the life sciences and healthcare industry who are seeking to gain traction in the U.S. market.

Event description

The Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) is partnering with MATTER, the leading life sciences and healthcare incubator in Chicago, to deliver the Canada Chicago Mentoring Program (C2MP). The program will provide strategic guidance through team-based mentoring to 5 Canadian start-ups in the C2MP cohort. Accepted applicants will benefit from mentoring and guidance to sharpen their go-to-market strategy.

 Selected businesses will participate in an 8-month mentoring program that includes:

  • a virtual day of acceleration 
  • monthly meetings with your dedicated mentoring team
  • educational workshops 
  • an in-person pitch presentation at the end of the program 

This program is hybrid, with at least one visit to Chicago as well as virtual meetings from February to September 2026.

If you are interested in participating in the program, please contact Julien Rosan to receive the application form. Space is limited to 5 Canadian companies. Applicants will be qualified by a vetting committee.

How the program works

  • Business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking: The TCS will organize curated B2B meetings, connecting Canadian companies with international partners, investors, and clients to explore new business opportunities.
  • Networking opportunities: Join TCS-hosted networking sessions to connect with key industry players, government representatives, and global leaders, fostering collaborations that support international growth.
